How we'll work together
The process of strategic planning can be divided into two parts: Direction Setting and Implementation. The needs of the organization determine which aspects of planning are top priorities.
Strategic Direction Setting includes:
- Understanding your current state by conducting a SWOT analysis.
- Establishing general guidelines and expectations about how you want to operate as an organization, as identified through your Values and Operating Principles.
- Knowing your purpose as an organization by writing a Mission statement.
- Envisioning what the preferred future state looks like if you are successful in achieving your mission, encapsulated in a Vision statement.
- Identifying broad long-term Goals that support the accomplishment of your Mission.
Strategic Implementation includes:
- Setting Objectives that measure accomplishment of a Goal over a specified period.
- Creating and prioritizing Strategies to achieve your Objectives.
- Developing Action Plans to implement your Strategies.
